Hello! My name is Lisa Reyna and I am teaching 5th grade math and science. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Education.  I graduated from Tarleton State University with a Masters of Education in Educational Administration.  I have 26 years of experience in education and have held many different roles throughout the years.

In our classroom, I strive to create an environment that is safe and structured where students feel loved and valued. Our classroom community is built on the foundation of Brook Avenue’s core values of being safe, respectful, and responsible. I look forward to all of the great things our 5th graders will achieve this year! 

On a fun note, my first teaching job in Waco in 2000, was teaching 5th grade at Brook Avenue in the same classroom I am currently teaching in! Brook Avenue and the Brook Avenue community is very special to me!

Hi! I’m Ms. Garcia, and I’m heading into my 8th year at Brook Avenue. This year I will be teaching 5th Grade ELAR. I’m passionate about helping students grow into confident readers and writers. In our classroom, we track progress, celebrate every step, and cheer on the “a-ha!” moments. My purpose in all of this is to share a love of reading so every student finds stories that inspire, challenge, and empower them. I’m so excited for a great year!

Hi my name is Shayla White I’m teaching 5th grade science. I graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science in Fitness Management. I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Masters of Sports Management certificate in Athletic Administration. This is my first year teaching. I’m excited for my first year teaching!
