Hello Brook Ave Family! My name is Sara Barahona-Gomez, and I am excited to be joining Ms. Garcia’s 4th-grade classroom this year for my teacher residency!

I am a proud University High School graduate. Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of working with Waco ISD as a Bilingual Tutor. I hold two Associate of Arts degrees from McLennan Community College (in General Academics and Teaching EC-12th Generalist) and am currently finishing up my Bachelor’s degree in EC-6th Education through Tarleton State University. 

I firmly believe that every single student brings something unique and valuable to the classroom. Because of this, my priority is building a rich classroom culture and a strong sense of community where everyone feels they belong. 

I am so excited to learn and grow alongside your children this year. Let’s have a fantastic school year!

Hi, I'm Ms. Monique Casarez!

I'm a proud mom to an amazing 9-year-old daughter who loves playing softball, and I enjoy cheering her on every chance I get.

I'm also a loving aunt to two nephews and one niece, and I treasure watching them grow and succeed.

Family means everything to me, and I love spending quality time with friends and loved ones.

I believe in building meaningful relationships, creating lasting memories, and enjoying life's special moments along the way.

I can't wait to be at Brook Avenue this year!
