Physical Education (P.E.)

Hello Brook Avenue Family,

My name is Sue Malburg and I'm joining the Brook Avenue family as the Physical Education/Health teacher. I have worked at various campuses in Wacoisd as the P.E./Health teacher for 31 years. I started my teaching career at North Waco Elementary in 1994 and worked there for 18 years until it closed in 2012. I then moved to Cedar Ridge Elementary for 1 year. For the last 12 years, I have worked at Alta Vista Elementary, but sadly, it too closed last year.

I love spending time with my son, Jarvis, Sr., daughter-in- love, Corinthian and my three grandkids, Jarvis, Jr., Legend and Freedom. I have another grandson on the way whom I'm also ready to spoil rotten. My dog, JT keeps me company when I'm not visiting them.

I also enjoy spending time with my large family of siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews, most of whom have worked (retired now or changed districts) for Wacoisd or who currently work for the district. When I'm not with family or at work, you can find me gardening, fishing, hunting, just spending time in nature or feeding the unhoused around Waco with my sisters.

I'm looking forward to being back on the "Northside" and serving our great students and families at Brook Avenue.

Mi nombre es Sue Malburg y me uno a la familia de Brook Avenue como maestra de Educación Física y Salud. He trabajado en varios planteles de Waco ISD como maestra de Educación Física y Salud durante 31 años. Comencé mi carrera docente en la escuela primaria North Waco en 1994 y trabajé allí durante 18 años hasta que cerró en 2012. Luego me trasladé a la escuela primaria Cedar Ridge por un año. Durante los últimos 12 años, trabajé en la escuela primaria Alta Vista, pero tristemente, esa escuela también cerró el año pasado.

Me encanta pasar tiempo con mi hijo, Jarvis Sr., mi nuera Corinthian y mis tres nietos: Jarvis Jr., Legend y Freedom. Además, tengo otro nieto en camino, ¡y ya estoy lista para consentirlo muchísimo! Mi perrito, JT, me hace compañía cuando no los estoy visitando.

También disfruto pasar tiempo con mi gran familia de hermanos, cuñados, sobrinas y sobrinos, la mayoría de los cuales han trabajado (ya jubilados o que cambiaron de distrito) o actualmente trabajan para Waco ISD. Cuando no estoy con mi familia o en el trabajo, me pueden encontrar en el jardín, pescando, cazando, disfrutando de la naturaleza o alimentando a personas sin hogar en Waco junto a mis hermanas.

Estoy muy emocionada de estar de regreso en el “Northside” y de servir a nuestros maravillosos estudiantes y familias de Brook Avenue.
